Happy Christmas !

In Austria we celebrate Christmas on December 24. Traditional food is carp. Later in the afternoon there is "Bescherung". The lights on the Christmas tree are on and people sing Christmas songs. One of the most famous songs is from our country: Silent Night (orig. Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht). Then packets with presents lying under the tree are opened.

Here my personel video with Christmas Greetings

Leise rieselt der Schnee - Merry Christmas!

As every year I publish a Christmas message for fans. This year I choosed a child song more than 100 years old. Enjoy it!

Leise rieselt der Schnee (english: Softly Falls Each Snow Flake) by Eduard Ebel, published 1895, was a child song. I recorded the song in a rock version. The videoshots are from the Christmas market in Vienna. Read "Merry Christmas" in more than 20 languages. And that simply is my message: MERRY CHRISTMAS To The World!

Christmas in Vienna

It's Christmas time and walking through the city can be very relaxing or exciting - depends on your mood.

From the warehouses you can hear christmas songs. Mariah Carrey's "All I want from Christmas" or Wham's "Last christmas". Not to forget John Lennons "Happy X-Mas (war is over)". The most traditional christmassong "Silent night, Holy night" is performed on December 24, not before. But there are other traditional Christmas songs:
"Oh, christmas tree"

or "Oh, how joyfully"

In the city near St.Stephen's Cathedral there is a big Christmas tree. Lights come from the stars and lamps on the tree.

Walking to Graben big chandeliers are hanging over the street.

And near Pestilence column (Pestsaeule) christmas trees are offered.

For all cold noses market stalls offering hot punch (Punsch) is offered. Crisis or not, this business always works.

Some windows are made up christmas like, even Mozart comes red and white dressed like Santa Claus.

There are Christmas markets in the City of Vienna. They offer candles, art handicraft, tea, bakery, meat and more. As already said, crisis or not, food is always a good business. Viennese people like to eat. That's why they are a little roundish.

These markets are full of Christmas athmosphere, wonderful lighted.

A very beautiful one is the "Old-Vienna Christmas Market" (Altwiener Christkindlmarkt).

At 9pm lights go out, stalls are closed and people move homewards.

Christmas song released - free download and video

Every year I record a Christmassong in my very personel style, what means arranged as rock. This year I choosed the song "Oh, du fröhliche", english "Oh how joyfully". The song can be downloaded for free from Soundcloud until spring 2012.

I went out for videoshot to Vienna cityhall (Rathaus). Every year there is a big Christmas market called "Christindlmarkt".
I show scenes from the market: Christmas balls, angel figures and a wooden figure of a guitar player smoking joss sticks.

At the end of the video I go with the camera over the roofs of the market stalls to the Christmastree in front of the middle tower of the townhall and move up to the top where the "Iron Knight of City Hall" called "Eiserner Rathausmann" is installed. At the end Santa Claus rushes by sitting in his sleigh sparkling stars. I don't want to tell more - see yourself.

Press-Release 2011-12-12:

ViennaCC Launching Christmas Video and Free Music Download

Austrian music & film producer launched Christmas video with his version of Christmas traditional "Oh, how joyfully" arranged as rocksong

Austria based musician ViennaCC recorded the traditional Christmassong "Oh how joyfully" (Oh du froehliche) and produced a short musicvideo showing the Chrsitmas market in Vienna. The song can be downloaded for free. The song is arranged as indie rocksong.

ViennaCC: "This year I awoke in the morning and there was a reindeer at my window. With metallic shells and glittering lights and colourful gift packets in a sleigh. A beardy man shouted to me: "Oh, how joyfully waits the world on Christmas Eve. Ho ho ho!" and off they were leaving not one gift for me. Well, I live in 3rd floor with 2 balconies. Suddenly I heard the bells from the church, I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and I was aware that I have to record this song. That's the story."

The videoshot was taken at the biggest amd most famous Christmas market in Vienna near Cityhall (Rathaus). ViennaCC wants to give impressions of Christmas in Vienna to the world. The video starts with shots at the market stalls. Then the camera moves over the market stalls to the big Christmas tree in front of the Cityhall and up to the "Iron Knight" (Rathausmann). Santa Claus rushes by in his sleigh. It is a rocket sleigh without reindeers, obvisously with a warp-engine.

Every year ViennaCC publishes a rockversion of a Christmas song. Last year it was "O Christmas Tree" (Oh Tannenbaum), the year before "Silent night, Holy night" (Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht).

Pressemitteilung
